"Evoking Hecate"
Oil on Linen
18"x24"
Hecate was a goddess worshiped in ancient Athens. She is the Goddess of Life and death, liminal spaces, and transitions. The snake represents her as it is one of her symbols. The snake is wrapped around the hourglass as if it is in control of it. There is a faint texture in the background is the wallpaper on the dark wall of this cottage in the woods.
